I finally got Carter though his 2 year hungry, growth spurt! Yipee, right? It seems Skye has caught it.
She asked about breakfast before bed, then again at 6am. She is my hungry, growing girl!
she hums. just like me, always a song in her head. she hums while working, hums while walking, hums while eating…
Skye is also an expert snapper. I will try to post a video this week….
Skye told me the other day she wants to be a ‘cooker’ when she grows up. You know, like a cook or chef
Carter’s first wants to be was a car crusher. Think junk yard.
What was your kids first fantasy job?
I dropped a kitchen aid bowl on my foot. Then Skye drops her clankity doll on it too. Next a can of beans smashes my finger (it hurts to type!). I washed and dried a stick. We left a bag at Meijers, the most expensive bag we had, full of lunch meat and stuff. Luckily they are replacing it for free! I’m ready for bed.
“If a woman could see the sparks of light going forth from her fingertips when she is cooking, and the substance of light that goes into the food she handles, she would be amazed to see how much of herself she charges into the meals that she prepares for her family and friends. It is one of the most important and least understood activities of life, that the radiation and feeling that go into the preparation of food affect everyone who partakes of it. And this activity should be unhurried, peaceful, and happy because the substance of the lifestream performing the service flows into that food and is eaten, and actually becomes part of the energy of the receiver. It would be better that an individual did not eat at all than to eat food that has been prepared under a feeling of anger, apathy, resentment, depression, or any outward pressure.”

I’ve set them so only friends and family can see them. You don’t need to use flickr for your pictures but you will need an account to see mine. Let me know if you are interested and I can send you an invite or get your started with flickr.
as our family grows it becomes important to me and the kids to have things that are traditional to our family.
NYE
Chinese food at home. Either take out or I’ll cook. I cooked this year.
Then a kid friendly event. I know a lot of people get babysitters, but as long as our kids are young I’d like to be with them! Then home before midnight. Followed by me falling asleep before the ball drops and Paul trying to wake me to see it.
NY Day
Stay at home. PJ day. Get stuff done. Tree down. Everyday decor up. Paper snowflakes on windows. Clean, clean, clean. Organize. Make some cough sryups and broths to get ready for any winter colds that might come our way.
sorry, i’m in transition. can’t decide what to do but I promise I’ll keep you informed of whatever happens. new blog? not blog? I don’t even know how that would be possible for me.
anyway, i’m sure I’ll figure it out.

This is how our UU @ Home looks. We try for weekly, but actually get to it about once a month, maybe.
We sit in the living room. I’ve gathered anything we might need for the lesson (books, supplies). We light the chalice and an incense. After we say this.
After that we do our UU bag (thanks Sally!). Each items represents one of the 7 UU Principles.
We read a chapter from the book.
Then we follow the lesson plan.
This time we made personal torches and read about The Grumps. We had a great talk about what makes us feel the light inside. And what we can do to help others feel their light.
We blow out the chalice and that’s it!
Sometimes if the lesson is long we might do some yoga or other movement activity to get us moving.
We’ve been doing these in the evening while Paul is home!
