Day 5; ELMO

Posted on Feb 01, 2008 under Carter, Pictures, Skye, Television | 1 Comment

Normally I’m all for a commerical free childhoodWe try to buy clothes that don’t advertise shows, or networks, or games. My children don’t need to be walking billboards. I want them to think for themselves, not just follow what’s cool on TV or the latest tread. We don’t ban these things from our homes, heck we even buy some of them! But we don’t push them on our kids. It’s here, but it’s not a big deal. When we do watch a commercial (which with DVR is rare) we talk about what they are trying to sell us. Anyway, I’m a bit off my original thought here. All that said…… WE are going to ELMO Live Tonight!! I’m so excited! Carter has been to a theatrical performance before, but this will be Skye’s first. I think this will be the perfect first exposure for our almost 2 year old. When she’s 3, we can all start going to the plays at the Northville Marquis. We’ve never been to the FOX before, so this will be a treat!!

Day 5, two excited kids! All ready for Elmo!!

Guess where we are going???

Something actually good on TV

seems that even the good shows have gone bad. Giving us just enough plot to keep us satisfied and talking about it till next week. Or the reality shows that had a great, new, unique formula so they did season after season after season. I don’t want to hear Donald Trump tell one more person ‘your fired!’ or Jeff Probst tell another Survivor ‘the tribe has spoken’ even Amazing Race is the same thing over and over and over again.
But all that changed last week when we discovered Survivorman http://dsc.discovery.com/fansites/survivorman/survivorman.html

One show, one hour. It begins, it ends. It’s REAL. And Les Stroud’s ability to make fire is astonishing!
Anyway, you should check it out! There is good TV left out there!!
