Last week! It’s been quite the yummy season!
Still have all the acorn squashes. Thinking of making a soup for a Halloween party we are going to this year.
I froze all the peppers we’ve got over the last few weeks, in slices. This is my first time doing that. Hope we can find a way to use them!
Well, goodbye weekly supply of yummy produce! It’s been a fun summer!

The CSA season is wrapping up. It’s amazing just how much produce we are still getting! The kids and myself can’t keep our hands off the apples, they are so good! I really like the Honey-crisp but the Macintosh is quickly becoming my favorite. The smell like fall. Yum.
Lots of acorn squash. I don’t think anyone in my family really likes it, now we have 3.

Lots of goodies! We purchased an extra peck of apples. We’ve really enjoyed them! Also have an acorn squash this week. Any good tips for preparing it?
Sad to see the CSA season winding down…

We moved our pick up over to the Farmington market a few weeks ago and I’m so happy we did! We run into friends, people from church but the best benefit are the artisans. In the few weeks we’ve been picking up there we have learned about glass blowing, got a lesson on honey, weaved a basket and felt a real sense of community. The people there are so enthusiastic! We also got to view the scarecrows that people have made up for a contest. Such fun!

all this, plus a pumpkin

Is CSA for me?
Well if you love farmers markets, have a real sense of adventure in trying new foods, don’t mind not know 100% what you are getting every week, are often home during summer and fall weekends, want to support local farmers, then this is for you!! If you want to find out where you can find local CSA, please let me know!
