Pony Rides

Posted on Sep 18, 2008 under Carter, Skye | No Comment

well it’s been two weeks since I took the kids on pony rides at Maybury. I had no idea what an effect it would have on the kids! I do a lot of things, we go a lot of places, but you never know what will really sink in. What they will really remember.
Skye has not stopped talking about it. She tells everyone about it. The horse that looked like a cow (she had spots). Me go around and around and around. Me wear helmet. Me big girl.
Carter too. Yesterday he decided he held the ‘horn’ of the saddle. And if you push it it beeps, you want to know what sound it makes? Neigh. :) I love doing things with these kids. I love that we can!
Now I just need to find out where to get this girl some pony riding lessons ;) oh, that’s right. No classes for Skye till she’s 3. Next summer….

Homeschool Week 1; Blueberries for Sal and other stuff

Posted on Sep 18, 2008 under Carter, Homeschool, Pictures, Skye, Uncategorized | 5 Comments

This was a Before Five in a Row title, so a bit on the younger side for Carter but perfect for Skye. We had lots of fun with it! The idea is that you read the book everyday for 5 days and take a different lesson from it everyday. This book is about Sal and her mother who are picking blueberries to can for the winter, of course Sal is eating more than she’s saving. On the other side of Blueberry Hill Little Bear and his mother are eating blueberries to store up for the winter. Sal and Little Bear get a bit turned around and mix themselves up with each other moms! It’s a very cute book!

I’m not going to tell what exactly we did everyday. I’m sure the FIAR folks wouldn’t like that. They would rather you buy the book ;) Here is a basic run down of what we did and extra curricular as well.
